Hallowell is surrounded by Georgia Ave., Old Baltimore Rd. , Prince Phillip Dr. and Route 108. In addition, Hallowell has several walking paths, two lakes, a community pool and tennis courts. One thing that makes Hallowell one of the more family-friendly communities in Olney is the presence of Olney Children’s Center, a full time child care center, right next to the pool and tennis courts.

Hallowell is often (mistakenly) called Lake Hallowell, which is located off Old Baltimore Rd. on the other side of Route 108 in Olney.
